Seattle Chamber Players
The first album of classical compositions by Wayne Horvitz, well known jazz keyboardist, pays tribute to one of his seminal influences, blues pianist Otis Spann. The album's title work does not imitate Spann's playing, but rather, in Horvitz' words recreates "how it makes you feel." Following the five-part suite, are solo works by Horvitz written for each member of the Seattle Chamber Players, plus remixed versions of these solos made by Horvitz in his studio.
Original release: 2001
