Mac’s practice operates like a memetic gut: absorbing and transforming the strange, under-moderated corners of the internet and the emerging technologies that shaped his understanding of how digital systems influence behavior and harm. He tracks new technological phenomena until a form emerges that can carry their conceptual weight, resulting in digitally fabricated sculptures that integrate 3D printing, electronics, and traditional sculpture materials. His work critically engages weaponized technologies - hacking, surveillance, firearms - using their own grammar as material.
Mac received a BFA in Studio Art & Design from the University of Idaho and an MFA in Art & Technology Studies from the School of Art Institute of Chicago.
